Canada's premier forums for meeting exploration through mid-tier resource companies and hearing informed opinion on the sector. Annual conferences are held in Calgary, Montreal, Saskatoon, Toronto, Phoenix and twice annually in Vancouver.
This is a great site if you are looking for commentary on precious metals or macroeconomic matters. Bob Moriarty does an excellent job of combing the web for news and views and putting them all in one place where you can find them.
The Korelin Report is hosted by Al Korelin and provides a daily, weekly and Special occasion selection of audio and video interviews and property tours.
What they did for precious metals they've done for base metals. About the only place you'll find live base metal quotes and charts for copper, lead, zinc and aluminum.
Probably the best site around to get live quotes and charts for gold, silver, platinum and palladium plus a host of other free services.
Up late? Can't sleep? This site provides literally hundreds of strings of economic data to help you nod off. Seriously, it takes a little practice to find what you want and navigate the site but its an amazing repository of past data, much of it going back 40-50 years.
The US Equivalent of SEDAR, where you can go to find text copies of SEC filings (10K's, 10Q's, etc) for any company register or trading in the US. Its text only limitation means the filings are smaller files but sometimes less useful. For actual copies of Annual reports and the like for interlisted US/Canadian companies SEDAR is probably the better choice though the new html formatted versions of documents on EDGAR are definitely more readable...
The London Metal Exchange is the longest running market and for most metals futures contracts and the price setter most of the time. Price information is delayed for non-members but it's still one of the best places to get simple clean metal price charts for the contracts they trade. This is also the place to go if you want to keep track of forward prices. You can quickly generate tables or graphs of forward prices based of current trading of each contract.
Intended more for physical metals traders than commodity buffs this is still a useful site. They collect a wide variety of news on minor and specialty metals that is hard to find unless you subscribe to a number of pricey private sites. You can add yourself to the list for email alerts on metals stories of your choice as well.
All Canadian listed companies, both public companies and mutual funds, must submit copies of all filings to SEDAR. This includes news releases, financials, shareholder meeting circulars and in many cases, technical reports and prospectuses. Requires a PDF reader but it's the best all around source for background data on Canadian companies.
Probably the best free chart site around. Though the charts are limited to three years you can do comparisons and can overlay up to four technical indicators chosen from a broad list of favorites.
Stockwatch is one of the most useful sites for followers of stocks listed in Canada because it is a "primary distribution" site, which means everyone has to submit a copy of their news releases to them. It's not a free site, but visitors can get 15 minute delayed quotes, charts and access to the most recent news release for any company listed in Canada.
Canada's mining magazine that sets the standard for objective reporting on a number of exploration plays each week. Although the Miner is a paid subscription site it's well worth a visit for the free articles alone as well as for the capsule descriptions of mineral deposit types and the very extensive Mining Dictionary.
